I recently saw a request from a MacGregor 21 owner regarding the inner bearing (material) for his Enkes AR6 winch. I have a Mac 25 and I have a similar problem and need this material which is actually more like a bushing. I contacted the distributor in Canada and they replied that they could not help me. How do I get or replace this inner bearing? (Note: I have the original bearing which is worn out and the bottom washer which is servicable yet. Both are a fiber or phenolic type material)

I remember the post. The poster (sic) made his bearing out of HDPE from a cheap kitchen cutting board he bought at Wal Mart. You might have luck taking the part (s) to a good old hardware store where a bushing or bearing might be found or just make one out of material you can find at the hardware store. The FLEXIBLE cutting board (3 for $3 at Walmart) Has made a perfect replacement - maybe better than the original. If you can't find it, contact me and I will send you some.
