Engine warning lights on C30

The red engine warning light on my console has never been on. Is it supposed to come on when the key is on, or does it only come on when there is a problem. Is there any way to test the bulb? My engine is a Universal. I would appreciate any information that is out there. Thanks, John

Find Out Saturday

John, may not be able to get your answer, but were're having our third Catalina 30 International 30 Association Fleet 10 meeting tomorrow, Saturday, 15 June, at 10:00 am at Watergate Yachting Center's clubhouse at the foot of Pier 7 (turn left at the stop sign). Red Light

The red light on my m25xp is for oil pressure. You get an audible alarm and the red light when the key is on which goes away when the engine starts.
