I have a 1987 Catalina 30 with an ammeter in the start panel. I haven't had any problems, but, have read about the high current hazards of the ammeter loop as well as the glow plug circuit. I have also read about the replacement wiring harness and kit that replaces the ammeter with a voltmeter. Has anyone made this change, and one to eliminate the high current glow plug circuit, without changing the entire harness? If so, how exactly did you do it? My harness looks fine. It seems that if I get rid of the two hi-current loops, I'd be fine.
