I just bought a '77 Oday 25' with the engine removed and replaced by a 9 h.p.outboard. I was wondering how the wieght diferential would effect the handling of this boat. Will it give it more weather helm or lee helm and will it heel easier?
Rich, I have a '76 and it never had an inboard. At least not that I'm aware of. I know of others who have put them in but I don't know if there were specific models that had the inboard. I have an '84 model evinrude 9.9 Since I have no idea how the boat should feel I have no idea if the outboard I have makes any difference. I be interested in knowing if you find any rule of thumb on which models had inboard and which didn't. Later, Mike
I know of quite a few 25 owners (older models) that came equipped with the Vire 7 inboard. 2-cycle gas, one-lunger. Lasted forever, bit of a pig, but lasted forever. Cheers, Bob Linkage below to my O'day website
