I have a m4-30 Universal. It needs a rebuild. I'm looking for a rebuild kit or a way to find where I can get parts through Kabota. When I call them they had no idea what type of kabota it is. I know it's a v-850 block they said it was never sold in the U. S. so no parts available. To piece it out through a marine dealer. Several thousands, so a rebuild kit would be cheaper, any suggestions?

Kubota Engines

Is your engine a three cylinder? FWIW, our 1991 boat came equipped with a three cylinder diesel Onan Cummins Genset. Onan used a marinized Kubota tractor engine. You might find the parts/kit you need through Onan. Worth a shot. Somewhere on the engine should be a plate or stamp that provides the model and serial number. Onan will need that info.

Is it possible that you can trade the present engine in for a rebuilt one? Possibly getting a credit for your old one?

I had my Universal rebuilt by a Kubota factory rebuild shop. They used all original Kubota factory parts. I had to remove all the accessories, transmission, flywheel, manifold, etc.

New engine started right up and purrs like a kitten.
