Could someone help me with my engine problems?
I have an MD6A with both an alternator and a dynastart. It has three
control lamps, and today when I was leaving the harbor the leftmost
(yellow) of these turned on. Is this the oil pressure lamp? Anyway I
immedeatly turned the motor off and went down below to check if I could
see something. It then turned out that below the engine it was full of
hot water . The water was coming from a freezing protection plug on the
right side of the engine. The plug has a nut in the middle and the nut
is loose, and the leak seems to come from the nut. Perhaps the two
incidents are not related? Anyway, I got towed backed to the dock. Back
there I tried to start the engine, but nothing happened when I turned
the key, only a click. All lamps were working so there seems to be
battery power. So my hope now is that it is something wrong with the
Dynastart and that my leak problem is not related to some major
problem, hence my question about what the leftmost lamp is indicating.
