Looking for engine mounts for my diesel. They are Westerbeke 40510 and all are price at $165 or more each. Does anyone know where I can get a more reasonable price? Thanks

Gary:

I do not know anything about the Westerbeke engines, but Yanmars have different mounts for the forward & aft mounts on some of their engines and other have different ones on the port & starboard. With this said, I would suggest that you check before you purchase any brand "x" mounts.

We had someone have a new Yanmar installed and they did not use the correct mounts and the motor shook so severly that the shaft seperated from the transmission.

FYI Vetus sells replacement mounts if you want to persue that avenue.

I would strongly suggest you stick with the factory mounts. Yes, they are pricy but they are specifically designed for your motor and in nearly every situation I have come across, perform better, than the supposedly "better performing" aftermarket mounts that are usually a one size fits all approach.

I have seen and felt certain highly regarded after market mounts turn boats into jack hammers and then the manufacturer refuse a return or refund, so the owner wound up paying for TWO sets of mounts.

I just replaced my Westerbeke mounts last year and it was a very easy decision to go with the factory mounts.

I second that, replaced mine with factory and she is purring like a kitten now.
Try this guy out, he did me right $118/per, worked out some deal with a guy who had a new set that he was not going to install.
