Engine mounting maintenance

One of my Yanmar mountings has got a little rusty from the shaft. Pretty much cleaned it up, but anyone have any ideas how to paint. Presumably use a heat resistant engine paint?

What is a Yanmar mounting? Do you mean motor mount? And, if that is what you are writing about, then what shaft are you talking about? The drive shaft? It is unlcear exactly what you are asking. Are you writing about the engine coupler where the shaft inserts?

I gathered the propshaft slung water on the engine mounts and rusted it. No problem, just any quality spray paint will work. You can go buy that thirty dollar a can Yanmar spray paint, but it is not necessary. Or even heat paint at all, a motor mount doesn't get that hot. Just find a colour you like, tape it up a smidgen, and off you go. Very simple.

I sorta knew what you were talking about. Us mechanics use shorter terms frequently in conversing, and shaft and mount just added up. Plus, I work on boats..

Glad that was it though. Easy afternoon project while sipping and taping. A shot of Krylon and bam..
