Does anyone have knowledge about what kind of support is under the engine mounts? Is there any metal or is it wood. We are thinking of re-powering and the mechanic would prefer to have a more robust support. We are not sure if there are lag bolts or what?

If I remember correctly the engine mounts were on the two main longitudinal hull stiffeners. These were about 3/8 inch thick fiberglass and were hollow. The bolts or screws to hold the mounts were threaded into them. I would drill a small hole into the beam to be sure they are glass or if they have a wood beam internally.

Thanks Dave, the mechanic would really like to have some metal in there for support. If it's not in the fiberglas he will add an extra plate on top.
