Engine kill switch problem

On my 84 Catalina 30, I'm having a problem with the engine kill switch cable. When pulling the cable from the cockpit, the cable does not pull enough to kill the engine. I've moved the "stopper" at the end of the cable, but the cable itself moves and still does not pull enough.Any ideas out there?

Same for mine!

I had the exact same problem...twice! It finally froze on me again, so I just gave up. When the engine needs to be shut off, I go down below and manually shut off the engine. I finally gave up on my cable....I'm curious to see if others have had the same problem and what they did to cure it.Good Luck,Gary
