Hunter 41 Punta Gorda
Has anyone rebuilt/remodeled the engine instrument mounting on a Hunter 41? The backward slope captures water at the bottom and it sits there until it drys up or is wiped out. The shield over it has holes to allow access for the ignition key and fuel shut off button (electric) so water just runs in. Everything works but it looks bad with dirt left when the water evaporates.

Moyer Marine offers two sizes of replacement recessed instrument enclosures with a sloping bottom to prevent exactly this problem. They are found in their online catalog under Gauges.

Slope angle (down) on the bottom is 108° from the panel back.

Thanks, but not big enough. The opening is 22 x 9. It also includes the controls for the fire suppression system.

How are your fiberglass skills? This is a pretty easy project and you can mold as much bottom slope as you like.
