engine hose

where do you find engine hoses. I have a 50 hp volvo penta diesel model md22f. the hose between the heat exchanger and the water pump (for the internal coolant not the impeller for the raw water) needs to be replaced. it is 1.5 inch on one end 1.25 inch on the other end and forms a very tight U. I have tried a marine volvo penta dealer who couldn't find it and 3 different auto parts stores.

I may need to replace that hose and others..

also.I haven't tried my local V-P dealer, but I assumed that they would be available.Maybe not?

I think Sierra has those hoses in the catalog.

Not sure if it's online, however, if your not adverse to WM, they will have the catalog in any store as Sierra is their parts supplier. Sierra will also do retail orders if you find the catalog elsewhere or your not a fan of West.edit - just found the linkwww.sierramarine.com

I also have a 1996 40.5 with the Volvo Diesel. I go to my local Volvo dealer for simplethings like filters, and he looks at me like I had 6 heads. I fear if I need something important!Pluse, there are other things that seem to be specific to our model that are hard to find. Like, tou know those plastic knobs that you hang your sheets in the cockpit, anybody know a supplier? And, a lot of those rubber hold downs (for the rear lockers, and center seat), I know they are made by Southco, but what size are they??Would be nice to have a specific parts catalogue made for the boat. By the way, the engine has been flawless all these years, but I do look at some of those custom made hoses, a lot, and wonder!!Roger
