Hi I am about to change over the old small teak and plastic dashboard, with idiot lights and key switch to an 8" x 12" black starboard panel with the appropriate gauges. My engine is a yanmar YSM12. Has anyone attached gauges to this engine before? Is it possible to have the idiot light with the gauge? The gauges are to be oil pressure, water temp, amps, engine hrs, fuel, and RPMs. Got any ideas? I also plan to remote the key switch and kill switch to a panel near the shift and throttle.

Roy Mosteller put out instructions in 2004 that were very clear. We followed them and added oil pressure and coolant temp gauges to our Hunter 31. We retained our buzzers and lights. If Roy is not still sending out instructions, let me know and I will send you a copy of mine. rip@edmundson.com

YSM12 Gauges
I put gauges on my YSM12 a couple of years ago. Oil pressure, fuel, Temp. This engine runs cold so be sure to get a temp gauge that starts at 20 not 30. Otherwise it will never register. The 3 I have work great. Don't have any others

Request for instructions
Someone sent me an email requesting a copy of Roy's Gauge installation instructions. Unfortunately I managed to lose it. If you will send your request again, I will send them. I scanned and OCRed Roy's instructions into MS Word. I have jpegs of his diagrams and photos of my installation.
