I had the most extraordinary weekend. I got a visit from the Murphy twice on the same trip. First, the pin that holds my wheel broke off. We continued sailing by making quick repairs with zip ties. Second meeting was when we tried to dock and the boat would not go into reverse. I have a folding prop, so I increased the throttle thinking that my prop was stuck! Bad idea! My bow ended up on the dock. The good news is that the dock is a floating wooden type with solid rubber guards so no damage - except hurt pride - was done to the boat or dock. Turned out that the shifter cable had vibrated loose from my Yanmar 20 and the shifter happened to be stuck in forward. I had no idea that things were array from the cockpit. I have since reattached the shifter and used lock-tite on the bolts. I also used some of the wife’s finger nail polish to index the nuts to make inspection easier. Hope you guys get a good laugh out of this!
