Any suggestions for an adhesive to reattach soundproofing in side the engine compartment. In my 41Ds there are panels that are very hard to access and some kind of spray might stick the sound proofing back on.

bart, had the same issue happen to me! Adhesive would not work for long. I finally had to take some expanded metal cut to about the same shape as the insulation pieces and screw it thru the insulation to hold it all in place! Has been working great for the past 2 years or so.

I used spray contact glue. But what I think really keeps it up is the on my boat the front and sides are well taped together with metal tape and that makes it hold shape and stay in place better

Soundown makes a spray adhesive for their foam acoustical insulation products. I would imagine it would be compatible with other foam products.

I use the 3M Super 77 Adhesive. Available many hardware stores, street price about $10. It is the same product that Soundown supplies. But I agree that attaching to side pieces with the mylar tape will add additional holding power. For overhead or really difficult pieces to hold, Soundown makes a pin with a base that is epoxied to the compartment surface. The insulation is then impaled on the pin and a push cap is installed. Those work very well but are difficult to install with limited access.

The 3M Super 77 or 90 works well and is usually a permanent solution. You'll definitely need a good mask

I bought 3M super trim adhesive at an auto supply store. $25 for a spray can but it’s worked for the last few few weeks. Time will tell.
