My H 336 has a Yanmar 3GM30 - the engine mounts are attached to the engine bed with galvanized lag bolts and they seem to want to back out. Has anyone had this problem and, if so, how was it solved (my engine viabrates because of this more than it should).

ENGINE MOUNTS

I JUST HAD MY ENGINE MOUNTS REPLACED ON MY 1987 HUNTER THAT I HAVE OWNED FOR 2 YEARS. IT WAS WORTH THE COST ( 450.00 ) PLUS LABOR. IT FEELS LIKE A NEW BOAT. NO VIBRATION. I READ THAT ONE SHOULD REPLACED THE MOUNTS AFTER 5 YEARS. I ALSO HAD MY SHAFT REPLACED TO STAINLESS STEEL. ( 300.00 ) FOR PARTS PLUS LABOR. MERILL STEVENS IN MIAMI DID A GREAT JOB. WELL WORTH THE EXTRA FEW BUCKS TO HAVE A PROFESSIONAL YARD TO DO THE WORK!

Lag Bolts

Hunter was still using lag bolts as of 2001, if my 320 is proof. The bolts were loose, and I had to tighten them up to reduce the vibration. A word of warning from the dealer that I will pass on: There is raw wood that the bolts pass through. Make sure that you are using a sealer, and that it is still doing its job. It sounds like it might be a good idea for you to back out the bolts and reseal the holes. It might just help them from backing out again, and could help avoid an expesive repair.
