I have purchased a used sail boat that was once an inboard, then the motor went out and the pervious owner pulled said motor and discarded it. He also pulled said motor shaft and parts suchs as - leaving a hole in the bottom of the boat where said parts use to be.. There is a brass fitting embeded into the finberglass at this point, but nothing else..

How does one go about properly pluging this hole in the boat where said equipment use to be to make sure it holds the test of time..

This is not a work of art but a sailing vessel so i am not going to a boat show with her, but just want to do it right to avoid "sinking the ship"

Thanks, Matt

Also if anyone can help me identifiy this boat model it would be helpful - the title states 1961 pearson 24'

Pictures are helpful! A few layers(5-10) of fiberglass and resin over the exit hole will do the job you want.
