Endless Furling Line Replacement

This is an FYI for anyone considering replacing their endless furling line on a Selden Mainsail furling system. The manual says that the line should be 1/2" and the line that was on the boat when I got it was 5/8". I decided to go with the Selden recommendation and installed a 1/2" line. MISTAKE! The 1/2" line slips on the furler unless you keep tension on it. Furling in while keeping tension on the outhaul and the lazy side of the furling line is a pain in the a$$. :cussing: Now I know why they had the bigger line on it. Going to replace the new line with bigger new line asap! FYI

I replaced the furler- about the best money I have spent on my boat- fitted a Furlex 3000- SO MUCH easier!!!!!

On the H326 Sleden recommend 3/8 and I replaced with 1/2 since that's what was on the mast furler already.
