Hunter 27 Rebel 16 Great Lakes Naval Base, IL
Well, I sold my Hunter 27 that I've owned these last 13 years... I will be living inland after my retirement from the Navy and will not have either a deep enough lake or the facilities for a fixed-keel boat, so it had to be done. It has taken me up and down the California coast from Santa Barbara to San Diego, Catalina Island, Ensenada Mexico, Annapolis and the Chesapeake, and finally Lake Michigan. Thanks to all the fellow Hunter Owners, especially DianaofBurlington (Mr. Cherubini) that have made ownership a bit easier with all the great tips...the boat is better for it.
I am leaving s/v Badger in the hands of an ex-Marine who has limited big-boat sailing experience but lots of enthusiasm. He has already sent out my new, raw-foam cushions that I cut to be upholstered and started refinishing the cabin wood. (Projects that were on my to-do list...) I wish him joy with his new command...
I am not out of boating altogether: I have a Rebel 16' and a Sunfish. I am now in the market for a swing keel/centerboard vessel in the 22-25' range that I can trailer on and off the lakes in North-central Wisconsin. Even a Catalina 18 might do, but a 22'+ is more my comfort-level. If I win the lottery then I'll get a Hunter 37C and a lake house in Door County and a private plane to get there...but I'm not holding my breath on that one....

To everything there is a season...
But get touch with us when you buy the Hunter 37C - I'll want to add it to the database! ;);)

Sorry to hear that Braol. I am kind of in the same boat. I will most likely be moving back to central Illinois and will bring my C22 with me. My plan is to keep my H30 in NC on the Neuse River and visit my boat as much as I can when I retire.
