It appears that "Empty Pockets" is out of pocket. Maybe they moved on to bigger and better things. Brian, drop us a line and let us know how your doing...

I completely understand the situation. I've spent more than 18 months getting the Fuel Whistle up and running. There are numerous pitfalls but persistence pays off. Phil and Bly were very helpful with getting me started on SBO. I now have distributors on 3 continents. We have appeared at all the major boat shows in North America and Europe in the past couple months. If I can be of any help to you guys, don't hesitate to let me know. Best of luck.

New Boat

Glad you came up for air! Sandy and I are still moving in and organizing but we took time out for our first sail with just the two of us last week. We have to adjust to the extra 20k of boat but so far the boat and dock have been kept separated. I am amazed how much more distance we cover in the same time compared to our other boat, I suppose it's waterline related. I still would like to know what type of vacuum you found that you liked so much. Take a break and go sailing

Upgrade

Thank you Brian, I,m going to can the Vac I just bought. Sandy and I found the boat we have been looking for seriously for the last 3 years, Vagabond 42, and intend to spend this winter learning all the systems and bringing maint.up to date. We sailed a hunter 27 for 22 years and needed to graduate. I would like to talk to you about some of the items I've come up with over the years that may be of interest to you, It sounds like you have made the commitment to make your living in the boating industry and from what I've gotten from your Posts on this site you should do well. Tom

Will you be at the IBEX Show in Miami on Nov 1-3? I will be at our distributors booth (Commar Sales, LTD)for much of that time. If you get a chance you should stop by and have a look at one of the largest marine trade shows in the world.

we will probably be represented there...

...Good morning Alan! Although we probably won't be there personally, our product just might be. We have been fortunate enough to get involved with some other companies who are representing our product, and they will be at the show, hopefully with our products. I'll keep you posted. We are going the the St. Pete 'Strictly Sail' for the "official unveiling" of our complete product to the marine market. I just might be there on Tuesday... we'll have to see how our schedule goes. Welcome to South Florida in November! Is this your first IBEX show? Brian

Fantastic!!

Looks like we're both going to have a great 2007(fingers crossed) *5 What's the name of your new company? Stef, I have a stemware holder on my boat that suspends fluted glasses from the ceiling upside down. I like yours better.....it will hold the glasses with the good stuff in it!! ;D

Cup holder for a wine glass!

May I suggest making the stemware stacker in a two glass model also. Then you could mount it to the helm in a cockpit and use it as a glass holder as well. IN a one glass model you could mount them to stern rail seats too. This way it can be used not only as a storage for wine glasses down below but also a drink holder topside. Good Luck, Jonathan Costello

Stemware

While we are on the topic of wine glasses, has anyone designed a holder for individual wine glasses or other stemware for use in the cockpit? We have lost or broken our share of such glasses at anchor or in the slip when a large wake rocks the boat. The standard cup holders seem to make things worse for the top heavy glasses. Something that mounts on a rail would be great. A simple device with curved or angled prongs to grasp the bowl of the glass might work.

Brian

Yep...

Hey John, Here is the link to the manufacturer of what you and Jonathan have described...it is a new item, but I am sure you will see it more and more as it becomes available on the wider markets. (Hey Phil, You should sell these!)

Your's is nicer!

Personally I like the teak on yours and the black clips rather than the white plastic/starboard.

B

Brian

...well thank you ;D ,

...but I can't warrant that it will support a full glass in the cockpit! The "Stemware Stacker" is designed to safely STORE your fine stemware only (traditionally a HUGE problem on boats). We hope to have the "Stacker" available early next year... check with SBO after Jan 1 for availability. There will be several models (teak, mahogany, poly)for the start, and with multiple configurations available over the next year. I am way outta line here... no more info for you guys until it is available through SBO! *x ...back to the normal grind; Is there a "boatbabe" in the house??

I was thinking . . .

Hopefully it will be loud hawaiian shirts, khaki shorts, and flip flops. And a cooler of Kalik . . . And please, not the red anchor boxers. Is that ok with you Steph?

Not the mermaid boxers either.

Hang in there Steph, it took the Admiral a few years to get my wardrobe to the proper level. But I still wear my Birdwell Beach Britches on Saturdays.
