Might have found a place for those elusive leaks that some of us are having. I'm Still preparing the boat, can't believe I'm not in the water YET!!! My wife is about ready to beat me up. I digress.... Checking the cup holders in the port and starboard sides, I removed them to clean under the edges. Stuff was growing under there very green reaching out for me. Well I found 1 out 4 screws on both sides had NO cauling. This would be a great place for a small leak to occur and drive you nuts trying to find it. Check yours.... Screws are Known for Leaks

Screws are really known for sources of water leaks. Hopefully there is only fiberglass there and no wood coreing. Don't feel bad about not being out yet. Just took my boat to the yard on Tuesday (only second time I left the slip this year) and the night before it SNOWED to sealevel just a few miles north of here! Needless to say the wind chill crossing Puget Sound was below freezing on my trip! Spring came yesterday for a couple days and tomorrow the rain returns. See, it could be worse.

Wonderfull stuff

Aren't we lucky having a site like this for not only does it help us with this and that relating to repairs etc etc etc to our beloved yachts but probably just if not more importantly it brings us together from all over the world to share our experiances. To read about the snow down to sea level: it's just fantastic. Here in Southern Western Australia at this time of the year we get some fairly rugged weather. Swells to 9 metres, hail, massive lows containing buckets of rain, winds at times reaching 40-50 knots. Yet today a perfect cloudless day with only a slight breeze. Oh well, back to work. The weekend is only four days away. Regards to you all

We are still waiting for Spring to spring in WI

I'm hoping to launch the boat this weekend. Don't know though. The Weather Channel forecast for Saturday says Rain/Snow showers. If I see another damned computer snowflake I'm going to scream. Anybody know of any nuclear power training jobs in Pheonix or Pensacola? Mike Pajewski H-26 "Loon"

Leak?

I found a very interesting leak. My 170 has breather holes in the cargo area in the bow. We have had some high humidity lately with dew point at around 60 degrees and weather has been funny hitting 46 degrees in the morning. My boat is coated with heavy dew and when I picked up the front end of the trailer, I heard a swooosh and low & behold out came a large quantity of water. I keep the drain plug open but the boat is bow down when parked so it had apparrently accumulated over the last month or so. This was not something I had ever thought about but this type of construction, well.
