Is anyone out there using The Cap'n Mosaic 8.0? I own the sotware, and I understand that the developers (Nautical Technologies) have recently been aquired by Maptech. So, for now it's a wait and see what will happen.. software aquisitions usually go one of two ways, 1. The software continues to be developed by the new owners, or 2. The software dissapears soon and users are then directed into the Mother company's brand of software. For now, before spending another $500 on something else, I am going to stick with what I have and try to learn it well. Are there any other users out there who want to sahre experiences? Have you tried to download the free charts from maptech and import them into Mosaic? Is it difficult? How do you frin Mosaic works for you overall? The fac tthat the USCG uses Mosaic was a point that gave the software some extra credibility for me when making my decision. It seems as if it is pretty robust, but I have not had much of an opportunity to really put it into a practical application yet. I hope that if they develop it further that they create better educational tools for the users... like a CD with video clips of the software being used to help demonstrate some of the basic how-to's. I look forward to responses! Paul

Just checked the specs for The Cap'n. You should be able to use the BSB charts from Maptech(free).
