two ways
you can either step the mast or... drill a hole about eye level into the side of the mast (about 1/2 inch). use a bent peice of wire like hook and fish the wires out of the side of the mast. then send a piece of weighted string down the running lamp hole to about the level of the hole you drilled. fish the string out and tape the string and wire together firmly and as small as possible, tapering it to the string. Then pull the wire back up the mast and out of the hole. I can't say this is the best way but it will save some time and money since you won't have to step the mast. Be sure to Plug and seal your lower hole when finished. You never know you may need this hole again one day. I have one in my mast and I have used it at least 5 times on different jobs.
