Just finished two major electrical upgrades to the boat. First was replacing and rewiring the main DC panel. This project was literally 3+ years in the making as I started planning this when I bought the boat in 2009, and started getting the parts to do this in 2010. It required lots of other upgrades to be completed before I could complete it, and as any good boat project goes, those upgrades spurred their own side projects..
Second was installing an inverter, this was as much of a learning process as anything else in calculating voltage drops, amperage capacity of wires and fusing requirements. Since I was able to operate a power drill last week that is rated at 98% of the inverter's continuous output rating, I'm pretty happy with the results.
