I think besides media mania, cancelled flights, road closures and disrupted train schedules may have a little to do with it.
We are better prepared than most anyone on shore. We have 165 gallons of water stored and get it via 12v. There are not many homes/businesses that store water. Houses in metropolitan areas get gravity fed water so they should be ok for a while. Anyone with a well is without water with no power.Tim R.
They always tell us to fill the bathtub with water when a hurricane is bearing down on us. When you live on a boat without a bathtub what do you do to prepare? I'm not too sure what the bathtub water is supposed to be for? I can tell you I will definitely not be drinking it.
