I think besides media mania, cancelled flights, road closures and disrupted train schedules may have a little to do with it.

Made it through the night. Lots of snow here. 29 inches as of 8am. Cover held up well.

A friend tried to get in his boat at 2am and went into the water. Luckily the dock crew came by about 15 minutes later and hauled him out. He is fine. Wife is ready to sink the boat.

The weather guys hit the bullseye on this one, 26" here in the monadnock region. I've never minded the snow but have to admit being on the shady side of the 50's, this is starting to get old...

They always tell us to fill the bathtub with water when a hurricane is bearing down on us. When you live on a boat without a bathtub what do you do to prepare? I'm not too sure what the bathtub water is supposed to be for? I can tell you I will definitely not be drinking it.

Main-What Wufibugs said. Us southern boys can only handle a 1-2 inch blizzard so a trip up north is outathequestion! A video would be cool.

We are better prepared than most anyone on shore. We have 165 gallons of water stored and get it via 12v. There are not many homes/businesses that store water. Houses in metropolitan areas get gravity fed water so they should be ok for a while. Anyone with a well is without water with no power.

We can last many days without 110v power as our water pump, lighting, refridgeration, heater are all powered by 12v.

Jibes, we fill a bathtub at the house just to flush the toilets. Of course after taking about 4, or five baths in it, yes you're right. It does taste kinda funky..
