On our 310 the Green Service on light is out
Where would I get a replacement and is it an easy fix or do I just leave it out? It looks like I can just pop it out and when I get a new one pop that in and hook the wires back up to it? Thanks for any insight!

Yes this should be simple. Try Radio shack they may have one. I am assuming this is for the 120 VAC shore power so be sure to turn the power off before opening the panel. You really should fix it as its nice to know when you have power and it is an ABYC standard.

Thank You, is it that easy of a fix, pop it off and re-attach the wires ?
do I bring the old one with me or just a size, # of posts on the back?
Thanks again

Yes should be pretty simple 2 wires. I would take it out and bring it with you. You do not need an exact match but check voltage and hole size.

weinie's is a good source. We also used http://c34.org/bbs/index.php/topic,5078.msg39196.html#msg39196

But the C36 Association website has reported that Seaward closed but that Dennis is still available for parts. I'll look up their link and post it later.

Later:

try this, you have to sign up to the C36 forum, but it's free.

Here's the text:

Seaward panel parts Many, if not all, of our boats are equipped with engine panels, electrical panels and water heaters that were made by Seaward, a long-time supplier to Catalina.

Seaward, based in Whittier, California, is now part of Whale Seaward, based in New Hampshire. The new company no longer sells its panels and parts to individual customers, being focused on the wholesale trade.

But I was pleased to learn that many of the Seaward replacement parts are still available from Dennis Igarashi, a former Seaward employee, who operates at the old Seaward site in Whittier. Dennis has access to a large selection of panels and parts. He was able to supply me with replacement push-on/push-off breakers for the A/C side of my main panel. He is extremely helpful, and I recommend contacting him if you have questions.

His phone is 626-374-6422
His email address is: digarashi@earthlink.net

Please note: The service light your talking about is on the DC side, the 12 Volt indicator. Mine was out also and replaced it from Catalina Direct last year. (the Radio Shack did not have one in 12 Volt) Mine was not only snapped in, but had some type of glue on it, like clear goop. It still popped right out, and back in again. Remember to turn the batt switch to off to avoid sparks. Just as some hind sight: Mine did not work when I got the boat and went the first 1 1/2 years with it out. It bothers me when anything on the boat is not working as it should, so I replaced it. Now we find that, believe it or not, that little green light bothers us at night when sleeping in the back cave. The only way to turn it out is to shut power off, not a great solution. In fact I made a wiring change so that my fridge is direct wired to the hot side of the 1-2-off-both switch so that I can turn the panel off when I leave the boat but still have the fridge running, and the little green light off. (were at a slip on shore power)

Mine has been out since I bought the boat and will not be replaced. Like Long Story, I learned on my 30 Catalina when I replaced the light that it was way to bright at night.

We had that feeling, too, when we replaced our lamp. Turns out to be a good "night light" though.

A easier solution than wiring the fridge around the 1-2-B switch would be to put a toggle switch on the lamp.

Or you could just velcro a cover onto the lamp.
