Electrical Panel Upgrade

My electrical panel (1981 C-30) has grown into kind of a hodgepodge over the years and I'm considering replacing it. My dilemma is whether or not to build my own or buy the upgrade panel that's available. I think the upgrade panel is $200 , but after pricing out new breakers ($15 each) and such in the build-my-own scenario, the upgrade panel doesn't look like a bad deal. Anyone have any suggestions based on personal experience?

SImple Panel

I just re-did my panel - bought a new panel, but stayed with the fuse scenario. The panel (6 circuit unit) was only 26 bucks from West Marine, including fuses. Originally, I really wanted to go with circuit breakers. However, after pricing everything out, I started leaning towards the fused panel. My reasoning was that if you have a proper circuit to begin with (with proper wiring) you should not experience an over load very frequently. On the off chance that you do, replacing fuses is relatively inexpensive, especially when compared to the price of a circuit breaker panel Good luck with your search, and let us know which route you take. Best Regards, Rob
