We have just purchased a Hunter 27` of 1979 vintage. The boat had an ingress of water which has dried out but leaving the circuit breakers damaged. There are 6 plus the main all told for the running lights, interior lights, bilge pump 2x aux etc. They are manufactured by Airpax MA. On enquiring with them they need the Current rating of each one in AMPS. Can anyone help with this information? It does not appear on any breaker or the panels.

Here's a deal for you

Alan, I would *imagine* that each circuit on the breakers would be in the order of 5-10A each. The size of the wire on the breakers would tell that story for sure. Each size wire is rated for a maximum current which would be the rating of the breaker. Now, I have some surplus Air-Pax breakers plus some other brands that appear to bolt into the same panel size. I have (3) 8A Air Pax, (7) 8A other brand, and (3) 20A other brand. They are removed from equipment, need to be cleaned up, and they are NOT tested. I bought them at one time just because I thought I might be able to use them. Never did. They can be yours for the cost of shipping, maybe $5-8. Email me if you want them. I'm in the owners directory. Rich

local marine or rv store will have the replacement

I sent my bad main switch directly to airpax thinking I had to have the same switch made. They took it apart to build a new one. 127.00 later the thing they sold me is a paper weight.. Found what I needed at a local marine store.
