I have one of them - it works decent. They make a very small amount of coffee, as the water moves from bottom to top, and you don't even get the entire bottom reservoir to move. Use coarse coffee and keep the lid shut while brewing.

As other have stated, brewing coffee via your battery bank will put a heavy cycle load on the batteries and lead to premature failure due to the 'short cycling ..... there is a fix: http://www.yandina.com/hints.htm#BatterySaver
Also you can add an additional battery (gel or wet) to the bank and then add a 'mixing' combiner that allows charging different 'types' (gel, and wet in the same bank) of batteries simultaneously. also found at yandina.com
Best is to brew the coffee on a stove ..... French press is ideal.

I read many (not all) of the replies that you've received about your battery quandry. Amoung the miriad of replies (both regarding batteries and coffee pots), I did not see any mention of a charger. With a one position charger, both batteries must have the same amp hours or RC. If you have a two position charger, they can be put on seperate circuits and amp hours do not matter. If it's a one circuit, the charger will, on automatic, continue charging the larger battery after the smaller one is charged. The result will be the frying of the smaller battery.
