I want to mount an electric trolling motor just to give me a kick to move when I'm fishing in the late evening and early morning before the wind picks up. Thought of mounting it to the right of the motor with an extension on the transom or on the rudder. Under sail, it would be stowed in the cabin.Battery placement, I thought in the starboard cockpit locker or in the gas can compartment inside a battery box. I have never smelled gas and since that space in wide open, a battery with good solid connections I don't think there would be problem. Please give me some feed back. I still have my primary kicker a 5hp.
