I have a Catalina 320 sailboat, and I am planning to replace the old manual toilet with a new electric toilet (Raritan SeaEra QC). The current manual toilet is connected to the intake seacock for seawater.
The new electric toilet will use pressurized fresh water from the freshwater tank. The old toilet is located below the waterline and uses an anti-siphon loop because it draws seawater from outside the boat.
Since the new electric toilet will be installed below the waterline but will use pressurized freshwater, I assume I don't need an anti-siphon loop. Is that correct?
The intake seacock currently used for the manual toilet will be permanently closed. Should I put a cap or something over the seacock? Or is there some type of lock or other device I can use to prevent the seacock from accidentally being opened and potentially causing the boat to sink?
