I have a new Beneteau 323. The pump in the head had been working fine until this morning, and after showering this morning the water wouldn't drain. the pump started to make a whinier noise - not sure if this meant the hose would possibly be blocked or if the pump is damaged (already?).. any ideas or thoughts? the valve is open, and there's nothing that should have been able to get in to the drain that could have clogged it thanks!

Valve position correct?

I have a B323. The valve for the shower is under the sink in the head. It has to be turne one way for the shower drain and the other for the bilge pump. Is it possibly in th wrong position? The whirring sound could be that the pump is trying to pump the bilge and it is dry. Just a thought.

Also, check the filter for the bilge pump which will probably be located near the pump

Had similar problem

on a chartered 40cc. Turned out someone had loosened the clear plastic cap on the pump filter and the pump just sucked air instead of picking up water. On my 281, the valve manifold for the shower drain also has valves for the ice box drain and the bilge pump. Two valves have to be closd for the third to drain anything.
