Electric Head

I just bought a Hunter 28.5 and I'm not entirely sure how the head works. I don't know what type of head it is - just that it's electric. When I flush it, I can hear it operating and it pumps out the contents. However, I only get a trickle of water from the top of the bowl. Is this indicative of a clogged inlet hose or is there something I need to do before flushing. Also, how can I tell where the output is going (holding tank or out the hull)?

Make sure you open the through hull on the left side of the bowl befor and close it after use.

Before I can tell you how it works...

I need to know what it is. A photo will prob'ly tell me that...but make it a photo of everything BUT the bowl...all bowls look alike. Meanwhile, don't use it again till we figure out how to get the flush water flowing...'cuz if it has an impeller intake pump--which most electric toilets do--running dry will destroy the impeller in it. As for how to tell where the discharge is going, you're gonna have to explore your boat to see where the discharge hose goes--to a tank or to a thru-hull. While you're exploring, you should also trace the intake line to its thru-hull to determine whether the seacock on it is open or closed...a closed seacock would prevent the toilet from pulling in any flush water. In fact, it would be a good idea to find ALL the thru-hulls, fuses and breakers on your boat ASAP...and check all the hose connections...'cuz an emergency is not the time to START looking for the source of the water that's rising in your boat or how to turn off power to equipment that's smoking.
