I have not installed one on the h36 but jest installed on our H30 1980. I would say this was one of the best upgrades I have done. This it the unit we installed http://www.baronusa.net/articulo:el...ine-heads-laguna-hydro-vacumm-toilet-12v:2901 as you can see I was able to run all the lines to the toilet in the floor. This made for a very clean look.

Nick:

We put one (SeaEra) in our Hunter Vision 36 about 5 years ago. We used a raw water flush unit. The down side of these units is that they are a little noisey when flushing. It has been trouble free since installation.

One benefit is that it will NOT flush anything that it cannot grind before it swallows it.

I have an electric head and it works very well (as long as you have battery power). Mine was a manual toilet that has an electric retro kit to change it over. They are still available, but right now I just can't recall the make of my head.

sea era

I now have a PHC raritan manual pump:dance:and we are traveling with 10 other sailboats and 2 have the raritan sea era electric sea water flush and they the wifes tell her they love push:dance: no pumping all it takes it's gone real easy.
I looked and found a better price for a whole new unit than the conversion unit to change over mine to electric

Nick: We put the sea era on and haven't regretted it for a minute. We put ours on in May 2005 and have had about 500 days on board since then. Have had ZERO problems. We use regular toilet paper - everything is ground into small particles that quickly turn to liquid in the holding tank. We had a small plastic plaque made that mounts above the power button "Push until bowl clear". Not one problem or comment from any guest.

Before changing out we were constantly having stop ups, having to grease the pump, guests not comfortable using head, etc. all these issues disappeared! Highly recommend.

Are you out cruising or when you back in PG and did you get your linear drive over in Ft Pierce.
I would like to see your elergance in stall and did you get raw water or fresh, does the hoses to holding tank fit behind the tiolet slant or straight type.

We were headed to the Bahamas but had a lightening strike outside of Maimi on Saturday so I am still repairing the electronics: sitting in Ft Lauderdale. Not sure when we will be home, probably in 2-3 weeks. I did fresh water only. The hoses go pretty much straight up.

I was on the phone with Raritan yesterday and very nice guy explained the 2 tiolets to me well in length and I really like the Ellegance but for me I like that the macerater is right at the bottom of the tiolet and that means less chance clogging and everything that goes in gets grinded right away and than out into hose to holding tank and the way it was explained the elegance needs to travel to the grinder with help from vacum.
I seem to run in the dry mode alot because we use the fresh water to flush with and after a talk with a male boater friend we both agreed the sea era really grinds it #2 into the holding tank and can still add fresh water in dry mode too and he said it is fantastic and never a problem.
So I think the sea era is for me and my wife seems to agree.

The size of the mounting platform is also a major consideration when selecting any toilet.

I have the Raritan Elegance on my 356 and am very pleased with the fit and the function. I only use fresh water.
