have a stewart warner boost pump just downstream of the primary racor fuel filter. noticed the other day that it didnt make the usual tic tic noise prior to start. checked the volts to it and that is ok. must be a bad pump. diesel motor runs fine anyway without it. where can i find a replacement pump, do i need it, is automotive ok, what is this little pump for anyway. also does anyone know if the fuel feed tube inside the tank has a strainer or mesh filter on the pick up, my yanmar seems to run differently in rough water, wouldn't say rough or missing but just has a very pronounced diesel ping to it in rough water and not smooth water. i suspect junk in a screen at tank bottom. final question here. am going to buy a dodger and build my own bimini. does anyone have an irwin citation 30 who could email me a picture of their bimini? i am interested in where is the best area to attatch the mounting hardware to the cockpit combing ie. top, or outside. thanks carl

Repacement parts or new Stewart-Warner fuel pumps are available from distributors of Walbro Engine Management. Call their customer service department at 989-872-7019.

electric fuel pump

I bought my new electric fuel pump from the local NAPA store. I don't recall the manufacturer but they're "standard stuff." You should not look to pay extra just because you're putting it on a boat; buy the one that goes on a truck instead. Southeast Power in Tampa is a great source for everything Perkins, by the way. You can reach them at 800/329-7582.

boost pump

Just went though this last month with my 31 citation. After much research could not get a clear answer from anyone with reguard to fuel compatabilty. Ended up buying a walbro pulse pump, low pressure, listed for a diesel VW, from JC whitney. About 40 bucks with shipping. I bought 2 (one for a spare)
