Our boat is 3.5 years old. The dodger and side windows have always been covered with Sunbrella. The Eising glass has become cloudy and I have tried all known cleaners to clear it up. I recall using a product made by Island Girl and after doing so, it seems the cloudyness began. Is there anything you can suggest to help out? John Richard s/v Jack's Place

There are products which are designed for plastic wind covers. I recall using one on a motorcycle windshield. Something called "plastic clear" or something like that . Your marine supplier should have a recommended product. If not call a bike shop. Above all, do not use windex etc. It WILL cloud the plastic.

This is the only product that I have had success with over the years in actually clearing some other chemical films, scuffing and reduces fogging. Bottle says to call Fl 561 630 9975. In Canada we get it through J. Ennis Fabrics. Regards, Scott. PS Great site & my wife could only wish for those warm temperatures

Cloudy Glass

Unfortunately I have bad news for you. When the glass turns cloudy there is little you can do I suspect the cloudiness is the result of what you cleaned it with. Almost nothing other than simple soapy water should ever be put on this glass. After cleaning there is a product called Plexis that you can spray on the glass and wipe off with a very very soft cloth. The plexis replaces the plasticzier (sp?) in the material I recently was told by a canvas guy that Armor All in the pump bottle, not the aerosole, will do the same.

Furniture polish w/o lemon...

canvas maker told me to use furniture polish specifically w/o lemon in it. Said it would keep it flexible and clean. I've never found any without lemon, so I haven't tried it. Has anyone heard this/tried it?
