I have put my Edson Wheel nut in a safe place last year, so safe I cant even find it. Looking online at Binnacle I see they have SS versions for 80 or Quick release for 115. A nut is a nut, Does anybody know a $20 solution . $80 for a nut seems a little much

Near my home is a place called LYNCHBURG FASTENERS

They have every manner of nut/bolt/screw/rivet
In every size imaginable and made from every type of material.

I’m betting there is some old school place like that near you. If you know someone in construction or a body shop, ask them we’re they buy their fasteners. Or google Lynchburg fasteners and give them a call

Buy a new one, then you will find the safe place shortly after the new one arrives. ;)

Measure the shaft, I think it is about 1" the threads are probably standard for the shaft size. A local industrial supply store might have one. Or try the Canadian version of McMaster Carr.

Fastenal in Moncton can get you any nut bolt you'll ever need. You'll need to thread pitch and dia. (it'll be a lot less then 20 bucks )

Think I just saved $100, that doesn’t happen often
That is what my wife tells me all the time.;)

I use Blue Loctite to keep my Edson nut in the same place.

Here is a suggestion I think you will appreciate, go to www. D&R Marine.com and look through the clearance tab.... There you will find an EDSON Wheel Nut for a reasonable price. As an O'Day owner and local (we'll sort of....) to this shop, I almost have their clearance inventory memorized......

If it were me it would be matter of principle; I would turn that boat inside out until it popped up. You can always slip the destroyer wheel on and plug the threads with duct tape until you find the nut.

Our wheel nut is plastic. Can't be too expensive, but also not very nautical.
