Edson removable steering wheel device Beneteau 331

Hello all, finally things are beginning to warm up in Nova Scotia, and I'd like to get one of those Edson devices that allows you to hang the wheel on the rail. I have two questions:

I can take the nut off but the wheel does not seem to come off easily....what am I missing? and,
The device refers to several types of thread....which one is the right one?
EDS-680-3/4-10 Straight Hub/ Quick Nut Combo 3/4” x 10 Nut
EDS-680-1-14 Straight Hub/ Quick Nut Combo 1” x 14 Nut

I would guess the hub of the wheel is slightly beveled. Thus, it jambs on. You will probably need to tap it lightly to loosen it.
