My new 272LE has a fresh water system that isn't working - no water comes out the sinks. I'm assuming it is the pump from the holding tank to the sinks - but I'm open to other causes. My first question is pretty simple: does the fresh water pump require the engine to be running or just the batteries to be turned on? And once set, do I just turn on the facuet and I get water? My second question is a follow-on: when I flip the water pressure switch on the electric panel with the engine running, the belt start to squeal. Aside from the belt being loose, does that give me any indication of where the problem lies? Any help is greatly appreciated. TJ

The pump should come on when you turn on the dc power. Check electricity to pump. good luck

Pressurized Water

Hello TJ- I have the same boat and I have never heard my belt squeal when I turn on the water. At any rate, depending on what breaker panel you have, maybe that circuit has tripped. Our the fuse has blown. Check that first. When the battery selector is on and the pressure water switch is engaged, the pump will draw and send water to both fausets with or WITHOUT the engine running. If both switches are on and supplying power, and still no water. More than likely you have a dead pump. As far as that belt, it should only move less than inch when pressed in the middle with one finger. Tighten or, if it looks worn, replace it.
