We know that along with some other model O'Day boats there were 222's built on both coasts. Here is my question. As you can see there is a teal 1/2" stripe below the wide dark blue band at the top of my hull on my 1986 222 O'Day.. Underneath this stripe is a dark blue stripe that is a gel-coat stripe in hiding. Below the teal stripe is a vinyl dark blue stripe that does not exactly match the wide top stripe. Does any one else have a (SUR beginning hull # indicating a Santa Anna Calif built O'day) with a teal stripe? Would this by chance be an indicator of a West coast made O'Day. I purchase my 222 in Tenn this spring and have not seen very many. I just had a marine detail shop buff and wax the boat this week and hesitated to remove both the teal and lower vinyl stripe thinking I may be defeating this intended purpose. " I was built in California."
