Crazy Dave Condon

It has been a dream of mine to have a trailerable Hunter rendeouvz. Due to the lack of manpower running a buisness, I was not able to do that. I have discussed this with Jim Novak at Hunter and he is in favor of it. It would probably occur at a lake on the Virginia and North Carolina border. This time I am serious about it and would like to see how many folks would like to come. We would have seminars, racing, maybe a dinner dance, and so forth like at some of the other rendvouzs. But most of all, the fellowship with other Hunter owners would be memorable. What are your thoughts and how many of you rascals could come? Mark from the Land Down Under would be welcomed and maybe he might drink some ol rock gut or moonshine and get ____ faced with me and loose some brain cells and become an ole Crazy too/ Ha! Crazy Dave Condon ps Happy Thanksgiving to all and I will be signign off for about 5 days.

Long way to go, but

I'm still interested. I plan on trailering my boat Slapshot to some new locations this year. It is so hard once its in the the slip to pull it out. However if it is going to be worth it I will be there.

Time frame would be nice

Got the where, how about a when? John S/V Icymoon

Just say when

Dave: Sounds like a good idea and we would love to participate. Are you thinking about doing it on Kerr Lake? One thought about racing; this event could be the start of the Hunter national championship for Hunter 260, 240, etc, like they have been doing with the Hunter 23 class for the last few years. Let us know the details so we can save the date. John Scharer S/V Zinfandel

I'm there

Hey Dave I'm there. Would love the chance to race other 240's and 260's and see upgrades people have done to their boats. Do you still have any connections at Smith Mtn Lake. I've wanted to get back up there since I purchased my boat. I'm game for anywhere in the mid atlantic.

Pick the right weekend and I'd go

Dave, I already have my vacation weeks picked for 2003, but if it falls in the right time frame, I'd trek down from Wisconsin to do some warm water sailing for a change. Mike Pajewski H26 "Loon"

Pehaps Early May/Late April ?

From my reading of these posts, I get the sense that most of us keep our boats in a slip in season. If so, a spring date would be nice for an early start, plus being able to put them in on returning. Just a thought. John S/V Icymoon

Winter thaw out

We need a winter thaw out rondezvous. Combine with week long coastal cruise for beginners and experienced. Southern Texas or Florida during February would be nice.

Rondezvous

I think Dick has a great idea, south Florida sure is nice in the winter.I would not mind driving a few hours for a chance to race other Hunters, I just will need to throw some more money at the old Bronco to get up to the Carolinas and back. Carl h240 Relentless

Dave sounds like fun count us in if at Kerrr SCM

April/May would be a good time overflow could camp. Possible large tent party and bonfire party sounds like a good time. The twins are up to the challenge.

Rendevouz

Dave, Count me in! Sounds like a great weekend to get to know and learn from other Hunter owners... A pig pickin with some kegs of beer would be a good idea too.

It will be fun

Just let me know when. (Hopefully when it gets a little warmer.) I can tell that most have 240's or 260's...I still have only my 170, so I hope that it will be a place that we could set up a tent and camp since sleeping on my boat is not very comfortable. I really hope that there will be a significant daysailer turnout...but what the heck..I'll race a bigger boat.

Sounds Good But...

Sounds like a great idea, however, I am having enough trouble learing how to sail the boat. At this point, I don't even want to think about trailering it. Also, I have not, and probably will not, get my updated towing vehicle by 2003. It might be nice if provisions could be made for all those who would like to attend and either rent a boat down at the meeting or perhaps double up, or crew with another Hunter owner whose a little more comfortable with the art of trailering. I would really like to go, with my family, but I just would not feel comfortable on such a long trip, even if I had a proper tow vehicle this early in my H260 career.

How about April 26 ?

This sounds like a lot of fun. Make it some place where we could spend another week or so sailing. I would love to meet a bunch of other trailer sailors. It would be good to be somewhere with room for camping for folks on the smaller boats and or extra crew on our H260 'Endless Summer'

Sounds Fun

This sounds like fun. Smith Mountain Lake State Park or The Pub might be a great place to host this. Lake Gaston would work, too.
