I'm in the process of installing a Xantrex inverter on my Catalina 34 Mark II, the boat is 2006 with a Universal M35 diesel. One othe the requirements of the installation is that the frame of the inver/charger be tied to earth ground. My question is does this boat have a earth ground bus and where would it be located? Or, is it acceptable to ground to the engine block.
Thanks for any help, and thanks also for all the great info alredy posted on this subject in the forums.

The engine IS the ground (for D.C.)

However, you also have to be careful to differentiate between the A.C. ground and the D.C. ground. For the A.C. ground for the inverter, you can easily connect the chassis ground to the A.C. ground that you connect to the A.C. wiring. Do not mix the D.C. ground and the A.C. grounds.
