I miss mine daily
I sold my 2000 26X last summer to get into a larger boat partnership. The new boat's nice but I miss the Mac constantly. I miss: -that it waas mine alone -that you had to tweak the heck out of it to sail even reasonably well, thereby improving your sailing skills -that it was easy to solo sail -that you could take it to summer lakes (but I never did) -that I never cared about the tide for either depth or current issues I don't miss: -that it really didn't point well -that the interior was like the inside of a Frigidaire And I don't want to admit what I sold it for... But someday I may get myself another 26X. It was the right boat at the right time. A lot of fun.

I went with Catalina
Csobalvarro, I'm afraid that I'm a reluctant renegade from BayareaMacs. Changes at the marina and my tow vehicle prompted a change. I"m in a partnership in an '87 Catalina 36. Lovely boat but I do miss the things I mentioned. 'Would stll like to sail with local Macs.

Local Mac Sailing
Don't mean to hijack this thread, but... Jim P, if you want to sail with local Macs, I'm hoping to get a significant Mac presence at this Summer's Sailstace June 22/23 on SF Bay. There are already a couple of Macs registered, and it's obviously pretty early, but never too early to plan a weekend of sailing http://www.summersailstice.com/index.php There's a short discussion of this on the Bay Area Macs site -- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bayareamacs/ I'm sure you wouldn't be the only Catalina on the bay either
