Anyone had experience with the aforementioned marina and area. I would be interested in knowing how the access is to Buzzard's Bay (I know it's right out in the bay however, is it easy to leave the protected area?), also, how are the facilities, food and other services, if so, did you like this organization? Any comments appreciated.

Nice little spot

We have a cottage a couple miles from Earls and ride our bikes there for breakfast accasionally. It's a nice small marina, with a breakfast/lunch spot. Grocery stores, restaurants, etc. are 5 miles back down Sconticut Neck, on Rte. 6. Navigating in/out of the mooring area is a bit tricky, but there are nav. aids in place. The surrounding water is shallow and hazardous, so don't stray! It looks like it's about a 10 min. motor out to the open bay. Once you're out, you have the best of Buzzard's Bay sailing, which in my opinion, is the best sailing in New England. We keep our boat at the Fairhaven Shipyard, but I think there is a sizeable waiting list.
