dynastarter

Today I started to have problems with starting my MD6A. It has an
original dynastarter.

The dynastarter does not run, juct "clicks", or runs with difficulty.
When the engine is running the lamp connected to D+/61 of the relay is on.
(Batteries are fully charged, and in general the engine starts easily,
if it only gets a kick from the dynastarter).

I had the same (or similar) fault in June and then I replaced the thick
cable between 30h of the relay and 30h of the dynastarter. It seemed it
solved the problem, everything worked well until now, but now I see the
problem is back.

Any suggestions how to diagnose/solve the problem?

I am on my way back home from IFR 2014 in Landskrona, but still
penetrating Swedish waters, before I cross the Baltic to Poland.

Hi Marcin

Remove the belt and see if it turns over without
load. Another way to help the dynastart is to left the decompression lever then
see if the dynastart will turn the engine over then drop the lever and that
should sort it.

Cheers

Thanks Steve for the advice.
The cable connecting the relay and D- of the dynastarter was broken.
It seems to work fine now.
