I am intended to have an asymmetric cruising spinnaker installed in my 29.5 but am struggling to get instructions on how to do it and what parts are required. If anyone has been down this path and can help give some guidance I would be very grateful. I have installed the Lewmar 30ST but need to know what deflection eyes, sheaves, exits and blocks. Many thanks,

North Sails has a great CD disk and

All you need is the following: Halyard, Tack Rope, two sheets (with shackle makes it easy) and two sheet pulleys. Don't be temped to only have one sheet like a jib setup. The lines get tangled up. Feed the tack rope through your anchor pulley and attach it to the dock line cleat. This same adding a pad eye for the tack. I have a toe rail to attach the sheet pulleys with shackles (also makes it easy otherwise you have to drill. The North chute comes with a GREAT sail bag that clips to a line on the foredeck. I run a line across the deck and tie it down to the toe rail. Clip the bag down and then fly the chute out of the bag. When I am down we drop it back in the bag. I can say enough good things about North Sails and they were worth every cent of the extra money! The sheets should be very long. Check with Sailnet but I think each sheet has to be twice the boat length. That is it. Very easy. Good Luck

Thanks for the replies, am pretty clear now on the running rigging (hint to have two sheets appreciated) but it is the installation of the halyard that I need some details on. I am the 3rd owner of a 10 year old boat so unfortunately the manual is in pieces. I have a sketch of where the mast cut-outs need to be made but I don't know what fittings I have to buy. Again many thanks for the replies.

From the manual

1. Halyard Deflection Eye - Z Spar 2. Halyard Sheave - Z Spar 3. Halyard, 3/8" Braided Dacron (55') I would go 60' with swivel snap shackle 4. Halyard Exit (Port side) Z Spar 5. Sheets (2) 3/8" Braided Dacron (55' with swivel snap shackle 6. Tack line 3/8" Braided Dacron (4') Snap shackle on each end 6.b Option for adjustable tack line is 3/8" x 55' (for use with bowsprit-a 30' line would work fine for cruising) Cutouts for Halyard Exit top R5/16 3 19/32 height 5/8 width center is 7' top 9' above base of spar Halyard Sheave Box cutout R1/2 top & bottom 3" height 1" wide centered 48' above forestay fitting NOTE: Halyard exits mast and goes down mast 1' to block on my installation. I think this is so halyard snap shackle will not go into mast sheave and jam. 7. Halyard Deck Block (Port) Z-Spar 8. Sheet Block (2) Schaeffer 05-15 9. Sheet Winches (2) Lewmar 30 ST

Sinnaker install question

Andy, A question on your post. You listed the following: "Cutouts for Halyard Exit top R5/16 3 19/32 height 5/8 width center is 7' top 9' above base of spar Halyard Sheave Box cutout R1/2 top & bottom 3" height 1" wide centered 48' above forestay fitting" Question - please explain the R5/16 and R1/2. Not wure what you mean here and looks like it may just be a typo. Also, 48' above forestay fitting? Should the be 48" Don't have a Manual. Is one still avialble somewhere?? Thanks. EMail direct if you desire . Grant Ziebell GrantZ5906@aol.com
