Trailer

I bought my 1994 23.5 Hunter from a guy in California that couldn't find a duel axle trailer so he took the 2 wheel trailer to a trailer shop and had the guy cut off the existing mounts, move the braked(prexisting axle)wheel forward and added another axle(not braked) behind to create a duel axle trailer. I pulled the boat to the coast in California (50 miles one way) back and forth for a year with no problems. I had the trailer brakes rebuilt, springs and tires replaced and moved from California to Florida(LA to JAX) and had no problems. I pull it with a Dodge 1500 2 wheel drive pickup going between 55 to 70 mph and never knew it was there(Other than the bad gas mileage) The main difference I saw after talking to people who used the single axle trailer is the 'sway' Single axles like to swing back and forth above about 55. The double axle tracks directly behind the truck and even when I needed to swerve to avoid objects in the road the trailer followed and corrected with no problem. If you can't find a double axle trailer, think about a good trailer shop to make other adjustments. Good Luck, John aka Katy/JAX
