Drying Sails with In-Mast Furling

I recently purchased a boat with In Mast Furling. If the sails are wet when furled and then the boat is docked for several days or weeks, I am concerned that they could be damaged. What is the normal procedure for this. Should I remove the sails and dry them out or has sail technology come so far it's not really a concern.

Dry you're sails

Mildew sucks !!! Dry out you're sails. If conditions permit, you merely hoist the sail at berth or mooring. If not, oh well, they've got to be removed. omo

Drying RF Main

Drying a RF main is no different than a RF genoa. If you roll them up wet and leave them for a long period, you're going to get mold (of some type).

RF sails

Are you on a mooring or a slip? I sometimes let my RF genoa out to let it dry, but I'm on a mooring so the boat feathers itself and doesn't try to sail off like it would in a slip. If you have to put the sails away in the rain there isn't a lot you can do. If they're wet with spray I'd just motor around a bit to let them air dry. Justin - O'day Owners' Web
