Absolutely true. I had some teenagers swimming near my boat. A boy dove in, swam some distance from the boat, and started to sink. I was no more than 15 feet away but facing the other way. My daughter saw him and dove in. The whole thing was silent.
Very informative! Thank you so much for posting this. I will be passing this on to my family members. Everyone should be aware of the drowning person's response. Having young grandchildren and a backyard pool, I was particularily caught by "When they get quiet, you get to them and find out why."
