Hi all,
I've decided to add a series drogue for cruising and was wondering about the type of weight on the end. I have plenty of lead to fashion a weight but wondered how much it would damage the transom when retreiving it. Any thoughts?

Hi Bill,
I followed the discussion on drogues from several forums and know there may be opposite views. Roger's practice using two anchors got me thinking of stern anchors, warps, drogues, etc. and how to manage them. Just wondering how not to drag a anchor over the gelcoat.

I have a series drogue and you can get a 10 pound mushroom anchor that is plastic coated at various boating supply places like walMart. the mushroom shape further adds resistance to the direction of motion. Another solution is to use a 10 pound scuba weight. You can get these plastic coated also and there are no sharp edges at all on the weights. use a nylon strap to attach to the series drogue
